Dear
Pine Grove Elementary School Families,
Greetings! I would
like to take this opportunity to introduce
myself as the new principal
of Pine Grove Elementary School. I am
honored by this appointment and feel fortunate to be joining an outstanding school
community.
My background
includes 25 years
of experience in Baltimore
County Public Schools
as a teacher, mentor teacher, and administrator. As
the assistant principal of Bedford Elementary School
for three years, the principal of Summit Park Elementary School for 12 years,
and the principal of Pikesville Middle School for two years, I have gained
valuable experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. I am aware of the great community involvement that
supports Pine Grove Elementary School
and fully welcome on-going involvement. I understand that Pine Grove Elementary
School is rich in traditions that I look forward to continuing.
I
earned both my Bachelor’s
and Master’s degrees from Towson University. Later, I achieved National Board
Certification as a middle childhood
generalist and earned a certificate in Leadership
in Technology
Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Presently, I am completing a PhD program,
Instructional
Leadership for a Changing Population,
at Notre Dame University of Maryland. I have a passion
for learning and for teaching.
I will work
hard to continue the legacy of success established
at Pine Grove Elementary
School by building strong
relationships with faculty and
staff, parents, students and community partners. Together we will achieve the goals of providing challenging,
meaningful and engaging learning
experiences for students; involving all
students in enrichment and extracurricular
opportunities; and ensuring a safe environment of genuine respect and rapport.
I
am excited to be a part of
the Pine Grove Elementary School
team to help students develop academically,
socially and emotionally. I think you will find me to be open, honest
and compassionate. I aim to earn your trust and respect. I look forward to meeting you
in the upcoming weeks.
The back to school mailing will be coming home at the beginning of August. Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
Sincerely yours,
Diane
Richmond
